Skin is the outermost part that protects from water loss and invasion of various allergen and pathogens, In addition to this functional aspects, skin has been recently as cosmetic importance depending K-pop star`s shiny skin in these days, The concept has been evolves as three part, based on Dr, Amagai`s group`s recent studies, stratum corneum as air liquid barrier liquid-Tight junction as liquid barrier and Langerhans cell as Immune barrier4, In this review, we will cover up the recent studies as 1, New concepts in skin barrier containing the tight junction story, 2. Skin barrier and Dermatologic diseases, 3.Various factors on skin barrier, 4, New Things in Brick and Mortars and 5, new barrier modulator: AMPs, PPAR, AQP3, PAR2, TRPV1, KLK7.
